ORBIT · EARLY ACCESS

What’s in this beta

• One-time paid distribution with clearer purchase, installation and support documentation.
• No functional changes from 0.9.2, no activation server, and no new telemetry. Earlier free versions are unaffected.
• Still ad-hoc signed and unnotarized; only one physical Mac has been tested.

0.9.2 — Image browsing beta, build 9003 — 10 October 2026

• Search results load in batches as you scroll, with no fixed total image cap; duplicate URLs are filtered out.
• Google keeps its private offscreen document for more results; Wikimedia uses server continuation. Provider challenges remain visible errors.
• Expand/restore circular control for image panels, adaptive thumbnail columns, and display-bound sizing. Back restores the compact wheel.
• Bounded thumbnail cache; loading failures keep existing results and offer Retry.

0.9.1 — Privacy hardening beta, build 9002 — 10 October 2026

• Saved clipboard pins use authenticated AES-256-GCM encryption and a login Keychain key; migration verifies the encrypted copy before removing plaintext.
• Locked or corrupt pin storage is preserved and blocks pin changes; Privacy settings offers Retry saved pins.
• Public image downloads validate HTTPS, addresses and redirects, pin the checked IP for TLS, enforce limits, and stop cancelled transfer processes.
• Owner-only saved metadata/export files, isolated download folders, and cleanup of marked temporary folders from dead processes.
• Updated privacy, installation, removal and tester guidance; public GitHub feedback tracker.

0.9.0 — Public Beta, build 9001 — 10 October 2026

• Compact Liquid Glass ring: empty centre, cyan hover, detached outer options, morphing panels.
• Three-finger inward pinch, keyboard navigation, menu-bar alternative.
• Right-edge brightness ticks and haptics; experimental left-edge Music/Spotify seeking (off by default).
• Image search/favourites/recents; local image editing/OCR; PDF/image conversion; archives; clipboard; local AI text; quick actions.
• Next chains compatible actions; Carry holds one draggable result. Pocket collection removed.
• Optional clipboard history/login launch, timed Keep Awake, gesture pause, and haptic control.
• Stable beta identity app.orbit.desktop; version/build in About; bundled install, privacy, uninstall, limitations, and feedback guides.

Free beta: no payment or expiry system. The zero-cost download is ad-hoc signed and unnotarized. See KNOWN-ISSUES.md for testing limits.
